“A three-day festival will celebrate southeast Asian cultures and the lunar New Year in Mississauga.

Tastes of South East Asia will feature the art, culture and cuisine of southeast Asia. There will be a concert, a fashion show, an art exhibition, and children’s entertainment.

“Inspired by Winterlicious and the ever-growing Asian population in the Greater Toronto Area, and recognizing the need for a spectacular and united showcase of South, East, and South East Asian art, culture and cuisine, Tastes of SEA is born,” the website reads.

Foodies can sample cuisine from 23 countries from the south, east, and southeast regions of Asia.

The event also aims to raise awareness against human trafficking and child exploitation, with a portion of proceeds going toward Canadian charitable organizations that support this mission statement.

The festival runs from Friday, Jan. 13 to 15 at the International Centre Hall 3, 6900 Airport Rd. Adult tickets are $15 in advance.
