We know that it isn’t even Halloween yet, but it’s not too early to start thinking about Christmas–especially since this is the first holiday season in two years that we’re entering without COVID-related restrictions.
For the second year in a row, the Small Arms Inspection Building in the city’s east end will host the Mississauga Festival of Trees, a nine-day celebration of the holiday season.
Slated to kick off on Dec. 2 and run until Dec. 11, the festival will showcase festive light displays, contemporary tree and woodpile art installations, artisan and culinary markets, live entertainment, food, workshops and more.
“Mississauga’s Small Arms Inspection Building will once again be transformed into a winter wonderland of art, food, and fun this holiday season,” the festival’s website reads.
The artisan market portion of the festival will run on Dec. 2, 3 and 4 and the culinary market will run on Dec. 9, 10 and 11.
As far as installations go, organizers recently put out a call for artists on social media.
“We’re seeking proposals for 10 imaginative, contemporary tree art installation works which celebrate the winter season and the unique cultural diversity of Mississauga,” the Instagram post reads.
