Say It Out Loud – Intro to Spoken Word

This course is targeted towards novice/beginner-level spoken word enthusiasts. Over the span of a month, participants will learn the fundamentals of spoken word writing and performance, as well as targeted techniques for improving their quality of work. Attendees will practice creating and sharing their own spoken word pieces on a weekly basis. They will receive one-on-one instructor guidance along the way, as well as peer feedback through small-group sessions. The course will conclude with a participant slam/showcase. We welcome learners of all ages, sexualities, genders, abilities, and other marginalized identities.
