The Mississauga Music Walk of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Sept 11 at 11:00am at Memorial Park’s Gazebo Stage in Port Credit Ontario. The public is welcome to come and help honour these Internationally renowned Canadians with their roots in Mississauga.
Alessia Cara was born in Mississauga and raised in Brampton On. Her debut studio album, Know-It-All (2015), peaked at number 8 on the Canadian Albums Chart and at number 9 on the Billboard 200. She has received nominations for four GRAMMY Awards, winning the GRAMMY for Best New Artist in 2018. She was nominated for Song of the Year and Record of the Year at the Latin GRAMMYS for her collaboration with Juanes on “Querer Mejor”. Her second studio album, The Pains of Growing released in 2018, won a Juno Award for Album of the Year and Juno Award for Pop Album of the Year and she also won a Juno for Songwriter of the Year. Her third album, In the Meantime was released on September 24, 2021 to positive reviews.
Don Mills is a multi-platinum and Grammy nominated record producer, songwriter, and musician from Mississauga where he has resided for over 20 yrs. He has worked with a variety of artists and groups, most notably #1 Billboard 100 album “Death Race For Love” by Juice WRLD, Klingande, Givēon, Maroon 5, Cordae, J. Cole, RUSS, Alessia Cara, FitoBlanko, and Rea Garvey among others.
