Calling local musicians! We want to feature your music on the City’s 311 lines.
Music 311 is a new program that will feature local music on the City of Mississauga’s 311 call queue lines. We strive to answer calls to 311 as quickly as possible. When a Customer Service representative is not immediately available, callers will have the option to listen to a selection of local music.
The program will showcase the talent and diversity of Mississauga’s musicians while helping to build new audiences. Music 311 also aims to enrich the caller experience by complementing the service they receive from Customer Service representatives with new musical experiences.
The program will include a total of 16 recordings per year, with four recording featured each quarter in 30 second segments. The City’s website will include information to accompany the program where you can learn more about the featured artists and songs.
To reflect the diversity of Mississauga’s population and artistic communities, an adjudication committee will select the 16 recordings for each annual term. Eligible recordings must meet the following criteria:
- The musician/group submitting must hold the copyright to the composition, performance and master recording
- If the recording contains lyrics, they must be suitable for an all-ages audience
- The musician/group must be based in Mississauga. If a duo or group is applying, at least 50% of the members must be based in Mississauga
Selected musicians will receive payment of $250 for a one-year term.
The submission deadline is Wednesday, October 20 at 5:00pm EST
