CreativeHub 1352 is inviting buskers to apply and if selected perform at the Lakeview Farmers’ and Artisan Markets during the season.

The Markets are a vibrant place to spend time, with vendors providing fresh produce, food products, and handcrafted artisanal goods. An average of 1400 attend the market each week and is greatly amplified against the backdrop of musicians and entertainers. A great spot for local publicity, during the 2021 season we have had on average 1400 market goers per Sunday!

The Lakeview Farmers’ and Artisan Market Committees are looking for buskers whose music will be complementary to an indoor market. We are looking in particular for acoustic, easy-listening music from local Mississauga-based musicians and performers at this time. The music should be a background sound for passersby to enjoy, allowing our vendors to communicate with their customers, and our residents to chat with each other. We are also accepting applications from artists or other entertainers.

Held at the Small Arms’ Inspection Building (1352 Lakeshore Rd. E, Mississauga), the Market has two performance areas: one at the Artisan Market, and another at the Farmers’ Market.

Busker Rules

  • Only approved buskers or performers can perform at the Market.
  • All Buskers are responsible for adhering to all Federal, Provincial and City regulations, laws, and

    guidelines.

  • Amplification of instruments or voices is allowed only at the discretion of the Market Manager.

Amplification needs to be kept to a minimum to not impede on the business transactions of

    neighbouring vendors.

  • Buskers must be courteous to adjacent vendors and the performance must not impede

    market traffic flow.

  • Buskers can collect tips. Performers cannot ask for money or require payment, but may

place a donation basket in one location; it cannot be passed around.

  • Buskers are permitted CD/album sales; other sales may be permitted as decided by Market staff.
  • Buskers must notify the Market Manager of a cancellation at least 48 hours ahead of time, allowing

time to notify another busker of an available opening. Repeated last-minute cancellations may result

in future time slots being revoked.

  • Buskers are permitted at predetermined locations only. These locations will be determined by the

Market Manager and will be indicated to the performers prior to their performance.

  • Buskers are required to check in with the Market Manager (or other designated

individual) on the day of performance.

  • Buskers are responsible for providing their stands and other needed materials. A limited number of

    chairs can be provided.
